It's time for those pesky progress reports! Most are doing well, and many have improved from last year. For some of the younger students the change to a middle school atmosphere takes some getting used to. Parents should always feel free to contact me, especially through the blog. Thanks for your support and patience.

Hello Mr. Diaz- James is experiencing difficulty with note taking . He claims he doesn't know what to study or how to study. We have told him after he reads the assignment to look for the darkened words and main idea of the paragraph, then take notes accordingly. We have notecards which I think are an effective way to study. Please advise James and/or us on any other methods you think are beneficial to help him get motivated to study and succeed!! Thank you for your time...Sarah Reed
Mrs. Reed,
That's what I told them, also. The bold words or phrases are important, but that they should use their own words (e.g., your "main idea"). I explained that note taking is an art form and that every individual's notes may be in a different form. The notes should compliment the readings. We did a review today. Those ready for the Geography test may take it tomorrow and the Science Friday.
