How Precious Life Is

Six weeks old today mommy,

A little heart for me.

A pair of big blue eyes

Through one day I will see.

Where are we going mommy

With the rain splashing down?

When it hits the sidewalk,

It makes a funny sound.

We bang through

The big white doors.

People dressed in green.

If they hurt you mommy,

Just run away and scream.

What are they doing mommy?

They're tearing me apart.

There goes my little brain.

There goes my little heart.

I love you mommy,

Believe me, I do.

But the funny part is-

I thought you loved me, too!

Math Packets Coming

Be on the lookout for math packets in 5th & 6th grades. There are quite a few students who are still having trouble with fractions. There is a lot of work, but the work will cover the basic operations using fractions. Others will get more advanced work including word problems.

Monday, March 31 is the Right Start Program for the eighth graders.
Home and School meeting @ 7 pm.
Thursday, April 3 is our trip to Bounce U.

Feast of the Annunciation

On this day we celebrate Mary's fiat to God's request that she become the Mother of God. Her faithfulness is what we should strive for not the "non-serviam" of so many within the Church.

Mother of God, pray for us.

Welcome Back!

Chirst rose bodily, not spiritually. As everyone knows, Elvis rose spiritually. Every year thousands visit Graceland to honor the king [of rock n' roll] and his memory. Rational people know that bodily Elvis is still in the ground. Some theologians do not think a bodily resurrection is that important, but we know what St. Paul thought of that idea.
We are all, indeed, fortunate and blessed to be part of this Catholic education; knowing what awaits us. If this is not important then why have this type of schooling?
I thank God every day for being part of Good Shepherd.

He Is Not Here, He Has Risen!

Mary Magdalen sees that the tomb is empty. Shortly before she was questioned by an angel as to why she was looking for the living where the dead are. She believes and goes to tell the others, who mock her.

Is today any different than 2,000 years ago? I don't think so. Too many hesitate to share the Good News with others: We are embarrassed to speak about our faith. Let us ask for the strength to witness to His Death and Resurrection.

What's Important

See where you are baptized, see where Baptism comes from, if not from the Cross of Christ, from his death. There is the whole mystery: he died for you. In him you are redeemed, in him you are saved.

Kids excited to catch-up on work!

With so many snow days, there will be extra work for the students. I forsee many excited, happy faces as a result. Today, the kids will be met with a fair amount of work, and they will be given as much time in class as possible. Hopefully, they can complete a small packet of math work over the break to keep sharp.
I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.

So, this is Spring?

Math tests were given back to the 7th & 8th grades today. Overall they did well, but those who did not can still bring their grades up to a respectable level. We will go over problem areas from their tests and if they make corrections and copy the work down from the board, grades will go up.

By Friday, March 7 each student will receive a Math packet to complete during the break. This will not be oppressive, but the expectation is that the work will keep the students sharp.
